Every guide, price report, and data table on this site is written by The Metal Roofers field team and reviewed by our technical team before it is published. This page explains who we are, where our numbers come from, and how we keep them current.
The Metal Roofers is a family-owned roofing contractor based at 935 E Trinity Lane in Nashville, and one of the longest-running metal-only roofing companies in Middle Tennessee. We have worked on metal roofing exclusively since 2003: no asphalt shingles, no general roofing, no side jobs. In that time our crews have installed more than 1,000 metal roofs and completed more than 10,000 metal roof repairs across Nashville and Middle Tennessee, on homes, barns, churches, schools, and commercial buildings. Ten thousand repairs is more metal roofing than most contractors touch in a career, and it is why other companies' customers call us when their roofs fail.
We install and service standing seam, metal shingle, exposed-fastener panel, copper, and zinc roofing, along with metal gutters, snow retention, and restoration coatings for metal and low-slope commercial roofs. We fabricate our own flashing, trim, and copper accents in our Nashville shop rather than relying on stock parts. Every installation carries our lifetime workmanship warranty in writing. We are licensed and insured in Tennessee under license number 75515, which anyone can verify through the State of Tennessee contractor license lookup at verify.tn.gov, and we hold an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. A certificate of insurance is available before any work begins.
The people who review our guides are the same people who bend the flashing. Our technical team is made up of project managers and lead installers whose full-time work is metal roofing in Tennessee weather, not a marketing department. Every installation and repair we complete is logged in AccuLynx, the job management platform built for roofing contractors, with the roof system, panel color, city, installed price, and, for repairs, the cause of the leak as recorded by the crew that fixed it. We have kept these records continuously since 2003, which gives us more than two decades of Middle Tennessee metal roofing data that no national publisher or review site has.
When we publish a number, we publish it as an aggregate. We never publish customer names or street addresses. Each figure carries its sample size and date range so you can judge how much weight it deserves. Pricing figures are actual installed prices from completed contracts, not estimates or national averages. Repair figures describe roofs we were called to fix, and we say plainly whether they include roofs we installed or only roofs installed by others.

The Updated date shown on a page is the date of its last review, not the date it was first written.
We review every guide at least every six months and sooner when something changes. Pricing pages are updated as material costs move. Copper pricing tracks the metal market, so copper figures are revised more often than the rest.
Our first source is our own field record. Beyond that we rely on manufacturer specifications and installation manuals, building codes and standards bodies, and independent research, and we name those sources where they are cited. We do not accept payment for product recommendations, and no manufacturer or supplier reviews or approves our content before it is published.
Most roofing contractors will not put a number on a public page. We do.
